On MLS, you will not only find classic questions for testing knowledge. You can also have your learners work with protocols. These are the perfect addition because they not only test knowledge, but also help trainees plan and carry out their work and document their results. π―
π§ What are protocols?
Protocols are practical documents that enable your trainees to plan and document their results step by step. They help them to work in a structured manner, not to forget anything and to keep an eye on quality.
They complement the questions perfectly and, together with them, protocols build up practical skills for everyday life. πͺ
π How do you create a protocol?
You will find various protocols in MLS that you can use. You can integrate these directly into learning tasks, just like questions.
The following protocols are available to you.
Workflow plan π οΈ
Shows the logical sequence of work steps β great when a task has many small steps.
Work plan π
Your trainees record which work steps, tools, machines or materials are needed. This trains them in forward planning.
Quality check form β
Trainees use this to check whether dimensions, surfaces or functions are correct β and document the results immediately.
Set-up sheet for milling or turning ποΈ
These protocols are ideal for setting up machines and preparing work on them. Your trainees record everything important directly in digital form.
For learners, it looks like this:
π¨οΈ Printing logs
It is very practical that your trainees can print out reports or save them as PDF files. πΎ To do this, they can simply click on the print icon.
This allows your trainees to take a workflow plan directly to the machine, for example.
Note: The print function for reports (work plan, workflow plan, etc.) is only available while the trainee is working on the learning task. Once the task has been completed or assessed, the print icon disappears.
π Your advantages with protocols
Why is it worth using protocols? Quite simply:
β¨ Structure β Your trainees learn to work systematically.
β¨ Self-monitoring β Results are checked independently.
β¨ Transparency β you can see exactly how your learners have proceeded.
β¨ Quality assurance β sources of error are minimised.
β¨ Exam preparation β this is ideal preparation for the practical part of the exams.
π Your benefits as a learning guide
For you, protocols offer clear added value:
You gain insight into how your learners think and work. π
You can give targeted feedback and thus guide learning processes.
From the outset, you promote awareness of quality, planning and documentation β exactly what counts in the workplace. π
Combining the questions with the protocols creates a powerful overall package: theory + practice = competent trainees πβοΈ
