Would you and your colleagues like to create learning tasks for your learners that are clear, consistent and professional?

Then you've come to the right place! Here you will learn how to design learning tasks that are recognisable and of high quality. 💡

This topic is particularly important if several learning guides are creating learning tasks for you. Without a clear structure, it can easily become confusing.

Tip: As a team, start thinking about how you can ensure clarity and order through common principles when creating learning tasks right from the start with MLS.

👀 This is what it looks like!

We start with the result – this is what your tasks could look like if you establish a clear order and structure right from the start.

1️⃣ Clear description of the learning task

Create a template for naming your learning tasks in a consistent manner. In this example, it is the department abbreviation, but it could also be a module number. This is followed by the course name (‘Pneumatics’) and then the actual topic of the learning task. And the eye learns too! 👀 So use emojis to make the task appealing to your learners. 👨🏼‍🔧 👩🏼‍🏭

2️⃣ Images as visual aids

What is this learning task about? A picture is sometimes worth a thousand words. That's why you should add one to your tasks. You can find out how to do this below.

3️⃣ Tags (‘keywords’) for easier searching

Tags make it much easier to find learning tasks. For example, they make it easier to search in the task management system. You can also filter learning tasks by tags when compiling projects.

❎ Step by step – Here's how it works

1️⃣ General section Learning tasks

Enter the title here according to your defined scheme. In this example, it is

  • Department | Course name | Topic

2️⃣ Complete the ‘Description’ section

To ensure your learners know what to expect in the learning task, complete this section accordingly. Tip: To ensure high recognition, you can always include your logo in the tasks.

3️⃣ Add tags and a preview image.

In the general section of the learning tasks, you will find the ‘+Optional’ button. Here, in addition to the standard information, you can enter keywords for your learning tasks and upload a preview image.

In addition, you can specify what is necessary in terms of preparation for yourself as a learning guide and your colleagues, or provide a sample solution. Important: This information is, of course, visible to the ‘learning guide’ role. 🔏 Trainees only see the information you enter under ‘Description’ and the preview image.

💡 Tip for the preview image: If you want to add even more structure to the learning tasks, you can use simple image editing programmes or PowerPoint to add a frame.

For example, you can assign blue for metal, green for mechatronics, etc.
